Rural Rate of New COVID-19 Infections Exceeds the National Average

Analyzes new cases of COVID-19 by rurality and finds that rural counties are adding new cases at a rate above the national average. In early May, rural counties were less likely to acquire new infections, but over time, rural counties saw their case rates climb as the rest of the country either saw a decrease or plateau.
