Microneedling and Platelet-Rich Plasma versus Microneedling and 5% Topical Minoxidil Therapy in Male Pattern Hair Loss. Skinmed. 2020;18(3):176-178 Authors: Gozali MM, Kurniawati Y, Zulkarnain SD Abstract A 33-year-old man, Hamilton-Norwood criteria stage III, and a 34-year-old man, Hamilton-Norwood criteria stage IV, were enrolled in this study and were allocated to two different treatments. The first patient was treated with microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), while the second patient was treated with microneedling and 5% topical minoxidil. Each patient underwent eight sessions of microneedling treatment, with 2 weeks interval for the first 2 months and 4 weeks interval for the next 4 months. We evaluated the patients at the end of 6th month. Significant improvements were observed earlier on the patient who underwent microneedling and PRP treatment with high overall patient satisfaction. There were no serious side effects observed. PMID: 32790616 [PubMed - in process]
