Imaging in gynecological disease: clinical and ultrasound characteristics of accessory cavitated uterine malformations.

CONCLUSIONS: ACUMs are a uterine abnormality with a distinct ultrasound appearance, which are associated with dysmenorrhoea and chronic pelvic pain. Its typical appearance on ultrasound scan could facilitate early detection and treatment. There are several treatment options ranging from simple analgesia to complete excision.
