Abstract
It is technically impossible to ascertain cumulative UVR exposure with the Korean National Health Insurance claims database due to the lack of information on each treatment dose. As an alternative, we stratified our patients based on the number of phototherapy sessions (no phototherapy, <50, 50 or more sessions) to find no association between phototherapy sessions and the risk of skin cancer. This is in line with the findings from Jorgensen et al.,1 which suggest that cumulative UVR exposure is not a significant confounder.
