This study was designed to determine the AR profiles and serovars distribution of Salmonella enterica isolated from different breeds of breeder chickens in the province of Henan, China. CONCLUSION: This paper provides an appraisal of the evidence on the high prevalence of multidrug-, extensive drug- and pandrug-resistance by commensal E. coli in community settings in LMICs. Our results call for greater effort to be placed at the community level in the design of new and improved public health policies to counter the global threat of antibiotic-resistant infections and bacteria. In this study, we evaluated the prevalence of Salmonella spp. and its serotypes Typhimurium and Enteritidis, antimicrobial susceptibility and multidrug resistance (MDR) status, and seasonal variation, of Salmonella spp. in irrigation water of King Abdullah Canal (KAC) and Wadi Shueib (WS) in Jordan. In this study, 205 Salmonella enterica serovar Corvallis strains were obtained from humans and foods from Guangdong, Guangxi, and Shanghai in China from 2009 to 2017 to assess drug resistance and molecular epidemiology. These isolates displayed high rates of resistance to sulfisoxazole (94.15%) and tetracycline (77.56%). Surprisingly, the rate of resistance to ciprofloxacin reached 21.46%.
