COVID-19 is a new emerging infectious disease that, by August 1st 2020, has caused more than 17 million cases and more than 680 thousand deaths worldwide (World Health Organization 2020b). It has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) and has prompted lockdowns in most countries for over two months (World Health Organization 2020a). The virus has the potential to transmit from symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals which has made it difficult to control its spread around the globe.
