Changes in Measles Seroprevalence in China After the Launch of Two Provincial Supplementary Immunization Activities During 2009 to 2013

Conclusion: We showed that large-scale SIAs were effective, but their effects were not long lasting. Given the drop in seropositivity among adults, their susceptibility should be carefully monitored. While older individuals could benefit from the immunization activities, children who were too young to be vaccinated still have a weak seropositivity profile and the optimal age for the administration of the first dose of vaccine should be reconsidered.

We report a child homozygous for a genomic deletion of the entire coding sequence and part of the 3’U TR of the last exon of IFNAR1, who died from HSE at the age of two years. An older cousin died following vaccination against measles, mumps and rubella at 12 months of age, and another 17-year-old cousin homozygous for the same variant has had other viral illnesses. The encoded IFNAR1 protein is exp ressed on the cell surface but is truncated and cannot interact with the tyrosine kinase TYK2. The patient’s fibroblasts and EBV-B cells did not respond to IFN-α2b or IFN-β, in terms of STAT1, STAT2 and S...

Measles (rubeola) is a highly contagious infectious disease with significant morbidity/mortality. Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR) is a live-attenuated vaccine used in the United States (US) to prevent measles. This retrospective longitudinal cohort study evaluated childhood MMR vaccination and the risk of a seizure episode and seizure disorder.

ák L, Németh P, Berki T Abstract BACKGROUND: Infection or vaccine-induced T cell-dependent immune response and the subsequent high affinity neutralizing antibody production have been extensively studied, while the connection between natural autoantibodies (nAAbs) and disease-specific antibodies has not been thoroughly investigated. Our goal was to find relationship between IgM and IgG isotype nAAbs and infection or vaccine-induced and disease-related autoantibody levels in systemic autoimmune diseases (SAD). METHODS: A previously described indirect ELISA test was used for detection of IgM/IgG nA...

In this study, we aimed to decode molecular signatures and pathways of the host cells in response to SARS-CoV-2 and the rapid identification of repurposable drugs using bioinformatics and network biology strategies. We have analyzed available transcriptomic RNA-seq COVID-19 data to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs). We detected 177 DEGs specific for COVID-19 where 122 were upregulated and 55 were downregulated compared to control (FDR

r U Abstract Measles outbreaks occur rather frequently in Germany. Patients with chronic inflammatory diseases are often treated with immunosuppressants. A recent study showed that about 7% of such patients are not protected against measles according to the lack of documentation in the vaccination card or the absence of protective antibodies. The Standing Committee on Immunization (STIKO) recommends a first vaccination against measles as a measles-mumps-rubella combined vaccination (MMR) in children aged 11-14 months and a second vaccination at 14-23 months. For adults born after 1970, vaccination against measles ...
