Considerations in treating patients with advance lung cancer during the epidemic outbreak of novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)

In this study, through a literature review and data collec tion, we focus on the selection and consideration of antitumor treatment strategies for advanced lung cancer during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic.

Abstract Sinogastromyzon sichangensis is a hillstream loach endemic to the upper Yangtze River, China. It is unclear whether this fish lives in a very restricted area or may be dispersed over a long distance. In the present study spatial connectivity of populations of S. sichangensis was investigated based on 343 individuals collected from 12 sites of Chishui River and employing 22 microsatellite loci. The results of genetic diversity analysis showed that observed heterozygosity (HO) and polymorphism information content (PIC) ranged from 0.5653 to 0.6999 and 0.8513 to 0.8819, respectively. Population structure ana...

The objective of this study was to prepare the liver targeting drug delivery system (TDDS) of artesunate (ART)-loaded polyethylene glycol (PEG)-Poly (D, L-lactic-co-glycolic) acid (PLGA) nanoparticles (NPs) modified by glycyrrhetinic acid (GA), and evaluate its in vitro cytotoxicity.Significance: The GA-PEG-PLGA-ART NPs enhanced the in vitro cytotoxicity on HCC cell lines. The development of GA-PEG-PLGA NPs will greatly push the clinical applications of ART as a novel anticancer drug. Methods: The NPs were prepared using solvent evaporation method, and the formulation was optimized through an orthogonal design. In addition,...

Authors: Miserocchi E, Giuffrè C, Modorati GM, Cimaz R Abstract Italy was the first European country to be affected by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. In this scenario, we had to face a new clinical approach in our Pediatric Rheumatology Unit for the management of patients affected by juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA)-associated uveitis. During the lockdown (phase 1), the weekly outpatient clinic was discontinued and telephone consultations were set up. A toll-free telephone number was instituted for emergencies. None of our children with JIA-associated uveitis was advised to stop the ongoing immunosuppressant sy...

Authors: Meng L, Yang X, Wu Y, Zhao Z, Yang L, Li M, Wang X, Zhang G Abstract Kindler syndrome (KS) is a rare subtype of epidermolysis bullosa that is inherited in an autosomal recessive manner with mutations in FERMT1. A number of mutations in FERMT1 have been identified in KS. The current study reported a 33-year-old Chinese man who exhibited a wide variety of clinical features, including formation of blisters, photosensitivity, cutaneous atrophy and poikiloderma, telangiectasia of the face and neck, contracture of the end limbs, nail dystrophy, muscle, eye and oral damage, tympanitis, esophagus narrowing, pneumo...

Authors: Ran H, Xiao H, Zhou X, Guo L, Lu S Abstract Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a common upper airway disease attributed to a variety of risk factors, such as environmental exposures and genetic susceptibility. The commonly observed comorbidity of asthma and AR in the clinic suggests the presence of shared genetic risk factors and biological mechanisms between these diseases. Interleukin (IL)-33 has been indicated to be an important factor driving asthma susceptibility and pathogenesis using both genome-wide association studies and functional studies in model animals. Although previous studies have reported the puta...
