Influence of bowel habits on gut-derived toxins in peritoneal dialysis patients.
CONCLUSIONS: Disturbed bowel habits, mainly characterized by slow transit time, may play a role in the accumulation of uremic toxins, particularly PCS, in patients on automatized peritoneal dialysis.
