Rheumatoid arthritis: Feeling this sensation in your lungs could mean you’re at risk

CONCLUSIONS: Prescribing pattern analysis showed the highest responses and remission rates with tocilizumab and TNF-α inhibitors. The main reasons for withdrawal were lack of response and adverse effects. Further research is needed to improve pharmacological RA management in real-life settings. AbstractRecurrences of COVID-19 were observed in a patient with long-term usage of hydroxychloroquine, leflunomide, and glucocorticoids due to her 30-year history of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Tocilizumab was applied and intended to target both COVID-19 and RA. However, disease of this patient aggravated after usage of tocilizumab. After the discussion of a multiple disciplinary team (MDT) including rheumatologists, antimicrobial treatments were applied to target the potential opportunistic infections (Pneumocystis jirovecii andAspergillus fumigatus), which were authenticated several days later via high throughput sequenci...

This study investigated the relationship between quality of life (QOL) and several factors, including pain assessments, in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods: This cross-sectional, single-center study enrolled 85 patients with RA. The variables investigated included demographic characteristics, the 28-joint disease activity score with C-reactive protein (DAS28-CRP), painDETECT questionnaire (PDQ), pain self-efficacy questionnaire (PSEQ), and pain catastrophizing scale (PCS). QOL was measured using the Japanese validated version of the European Quality of Life questionnaire with five dimensions and five l...
