GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi get $2.1B to fund Covid-19 vaccine under Operation Warp Speed
The U.S. government said Friday it will provide up to $2.1 billion to GlaxoSmithKline and Sanofi to advance their Covid-19 vaccine candidate.
The funding, being provided under the government's "Warp Speed" program will cover clinical trials, manufacturing, scale-up and delivery of an initial 100 million doses.
As part of the deal, the U.S. government also has a further option for the supply of an additional 500 million doses.
