New NMC Test of Competence to be implemented in April 2021, NHS Employers

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has confirmed that its new Test of Competence will be implemented in April 2021. The test will remain in two parts, assessing the skills and knowledge of potential registrants. Changes will include increasing the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) from six to ten stations, and splitting the Computer-Based Test (CBT) into two parts (part A focusing on numeracy, and part B on theory).
