Online psychological interventions to reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and general distress in those with chronic health conditions: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

CONCLUSION: Evidence regarding effectiveness for specific chronic health conditions was inconsistent. While self-guided online psychological interventions may help to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression and distress in people with chronic health conditions in general, it is unclear if these interventions are effective for specific health conditions. More high-quality evidence is needed before definite conclusions can be made. PMID: 32674747 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

We report the case of a 57-year-old woman diagnosed with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and comorbid FMD treated with weekly intranasal administrations of esketamine over a six-month follow-up period. A comprehensive clinical and psychometric assessment was carried out at different time points. After 2 months of treatment, a complete remission of motor and axial functional disturbances (athetosis, trunk torsion and genuflections) was detectable, along with a progressive improvement in depressive symptoms during follow-up until full remission. According to novel lines of evidence, glutamatergic transmission might play...

The development, progression, and therapy response of cancer is determined by the evolution of intratumor heterogeneity. How extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling regulates the phenotypic diversity of tumor and stromal cells and which consequences these changes have on malignancy, however, remains poorly understood. Increasing knowledge of these connections is critical as aberrant ECM remodeling often precedes tumor development (e.g. during obesity), regulates many different hallmarks of cancer including proliferation, metabolism, and angiogenesis, and can be used to diagnose and treat cancer more effectively. Studying the...
