A series of medical scandals prompted Jeremy Hunt, former UK health secretary to launch the Independent Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Review - with the explicit aim of strengthening the patient voice in order to help build a "system that listens, hears and acts – with speed, compassion and proportionality" That report is out, and describes a system that does anything but.
