Introduction to the Special Issue: Select Papers From the 2018 Charleston Swallowing Conference at Northwestern University. This special issue of the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology contains selected articles from the July 2018 conference dedicated to innovation and implementation of dysphagia practice. The collection of articles includes clinical best practices, new patient-centered assessment and treatment discoveries, re-examination and application of current practices across the age spectrum, and the role of novel technology and data science initiatives.
