Surgery for Hepatolithiasis: Single Center Experience of 12 Patients

ConclusionRemoval of the stones and resection of the affected liver segment is the best choice in the treatment of hepatolithiasis. However, residual stone fragments may remain in the early postoperative period or recurrence may occur later during follow up period. ERCP and/or PTC may be needed for the treatment of such conditions. For this reason, a multidisciplinary approach is required for the surgical treatment of hepatolithiasis patients, involving gastroenterology and interventional radiology.
