Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma Presenting as a Pineal Gland Mass With Obstructive Hydrocephalus.
Conclusion: The pineal region is an unusual site for brain metastasis. Although such metastasis has rarely been described, it should be considered in the differential diagnosis of pineal region tumors, especially for patients with suggestive clinical or histopathologic features of primary malignancy elsewhere. In this study, microarray analysis was used for gene expression profiling in rat prostate tissue after exposure to EDCs and sex hormones over multiple time points (prepubertal through adulthood). We used dorsolateral prostate tissues from Sprague-Dawley rats (male offspring) and postnatally administered estradiol benzoate (EB) on postnatal days (PNDs) 1, 3, and 5, followed by treatment with additional hormones [estradiol (E) and testosterone (T)] on PNDs 90-200, as described by Ho et al. Microarray analysis was performed for gene expression profiling in the dorsolateral prostate, and the results were validated via qRT-PCR....

Do you guys think there is enough volume to support an outpatient interventional cancer pain &cancer rehab practice? I will be starting my PM&R residency training at one of the top programs in the country after this academic year (am an prelim medicine intern right now). Today's open access paper outlines an investigation into how the aging of hematopoietic stem cell populations in bone marrow, responsible for producing blood and immune cells, can contribute to age-related dysfunction in the brain. The authors find that detrimental effects are mediated by circulating levels of CyPA, a signaling factor that is a part of the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), an inflammatory mix of signal molecules produced by senescent cells. The focus here is on direct inhibition of CyPA as an approach to therapy, but senolytic treatments to clear senescent cells may be the more useful appro...
