Corticosteroids in the Treatment of Sepsis

The review summarized here by Annane et al found that corticosteroids may confer a short-term, but not overall, mortality benefit for patients with sepsis. Specifically, they found moderate certainty evidence for reduced 28-day mortality (relative risk [RR] 0.91, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.84 to 0.99; n=11233).
