Metabolic Syndrome, High-sensitivity C-reactive Protein Levels and the Risk of New-Onset Atrial Fibrillation: Results from the Kailuan Study
Some studies have reported that metabolic syndrome (MS) and a high inflammatory state are risk factors for atrial fibrillation (AF). However, the combined effect of MS and a high inflammatory state on AF is still unknown. We aimed to investigate the association of MS and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels with the risk of AF in a large community-based population.
