Conclusions: Young PWID inject alone for a variety of reasons, putting them at increased risk of fatal overdose. These findings demonstrate that "don't use alone" messages may not be sufficient given the complex realities of PWID's injection practices. Harm reduction programs employing such messaging should also offer alternative options for overdose prevention/risk reduction for those who do inject alone. CONCLUSIONS: The overdose of MTX displays inflammatory lung affection with residual fibrosis. It induces lung affection through oxidative stress, apoptosis and sterile inflammation. With the use of febuxostat, the normal lung architecture was preserved with a little structural affection or fibrotic residue. Febuxostat exerts its lung protection through its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant features. PMID: 32644182 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The objective of this review is to provide clinicians with the information necessary to provide bedside care for overdoses of salvia, kratom, and psilocybin mushrooms. EXPERT OPINION: Salvia, kratom, and psilocybin mushrooms may not be an initial consideration when healthcare practitioners are triaging an overdose scenario; however, data from around the world demonstrates an increased use of these agents. While not typically fatal, clinicians must be prepared to assess these as a potential etiology of overdoses and provide appropriate supportive care. PMID: 32648791 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
