Gestational outcomes in women infected by Zika virus during pregnancy in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil: cross-sectional study
In the year 2015 a temporal relation was observed between the increase in notifications of microcephaly and the outbreak of Zika virus (ZIKV) becoming a significant public health problem in Brazil (Nunes et al. 2016). This increase in cases of microcephaly favored the development of diagnostic guidelines with more accurate neonatal screening parameters to better evaluate infants exposed to maternal ZIKV infection.
