COVID-19 containment measures adopted by Italian Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Association (AIEOP) centres to prevent the virus spread among healthcare providers
Sars-CoV-2 (COVID-19) is a new virus that has spread rapidly worldwide. Italy has been heavily affected by this pandemic (Lambertini et al., 2020). Cancer patients who contract COVID-19 infection seem to be at a major risk to severe illness and poor prognosis (Kotecha, 2020). Although children seem less vulnerable to the disease, they are not immune to it. The paediatric onco-haematology population is more at risk of contracting the virus because of its fragility due to immunosuppression (Hrusak et al., 2020).
