Authors: Grette K, Cassity S, Holliday N, Rimawi BH Abstract We performed a comprehensive systematic review of acute pyelonephritis in pregnancy using PubMed, SCOPUS, ClinicalTrials.gov, and Ovid from inception to April 2018. About 7796 references were screened for inclusion, and 52 references from 1908 to 2017 were included. One hundred seven cases of acute pyelonephritis in pregnant women were reviewed. Gestational age at diagnosis was reported as 2 (2%), 43 (40%), and 51 (52%) during the first, second, and third trimesters, respectively. Maternal complications included sepsis (49%), acute respiratory distress sy...

CONCLUSION: We describe consanguineous families with clinical features of antenatal oligohydramnios and bilateral renal agenesis, in whom we have identified novel pathogenic variants in FRAS1 and FREM2. These finding highlights the association between mutations in FRAS1 and FREM2 and antenatal/perinatal death. PMID: 32643034 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Detection of chromosomal abnormalities in spontaneous miscarriage by low‑coverage next‑generation sequencing. Mol Med Rep. 2020 Jun 03;: Authors: Li FX, Xie MJ, Qu SF, He D, Wu L, Liang ZK, Wu YS, Yang F, Yang XX Abstract Chromosomal abnormalities (CAs) can cause spontaneous miscarriage and increase the incidence of subsequent pregnancy loss and other complications. Presently, CAs are detected mainly by array comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) and single nucleotide polymorphism microarrays. The present study developed a low‑coverage next‑generation sequencing method to detect CAs in sponta...
