Loop ligation-assisted endoscopic resection of a gastrointestinal stromal tumor in the gastric fundus
A 37-year-old female, psychologically highly stressed patient was referred for one-stop endoscopic management of a subepithelial lesion (SEL) in the gastric fundus. Endoscopic ultrasound showed a homogenously echo-poor spherical lesion most likely from the inner muscular layer up to 25 mm without risk strata (irregular borders, cystic and/or echogenic foci or heterogeneity). (Fig. 1A) Likewise, EGD was consistent with an intraluminal-type gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), essentially facilitating endoscopic resection.
