Exploring mRNA expression in adipose tissue beneath the lesional skin of psoriasis patients

Psoriasis is not merely a chronic inflammatory skin disease, but its association with cardiovascular diseases has been indicated [1]. Furthermore, accumulating evidence revealed that adipokines, factors that are secreted by adipose tissue, affect not only inflammation, insulin resistance, and atherosclerosis but also psoriasis [2], which suggests that adipose tissues play an important role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.
