Professional Obligations of Clinicians and Institutions in Pediatric Care Settings During a Public Health Crisis: A Review

Since March of 2020, pediatric clinicians have faced unprecedented disruption in the care of children due to the public health crisis caused by the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, previously named 2019 novel coronavirus and abbreviated 2019-nCoV.1 Although serious illness following infection in children is rare, limitations in testing capability, unique symptomatology, and rapidly changing public health conditions have constrained our ability to fully grasp the direct impact of COVID-19 on child health.
