Acute intermittent porphyria presenting with posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) and abdominal pain.

Acute intermittent porphyria should be considered as a possible cause of PRES, especially in those with unexplained abdominal pain, since delays in its diagnosis can result in permanent complications.
