End of Life in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit: Is Extubating to Comfort Care Comfortable? (GP802)
Patients extubated to comfort in the neurological intensive care unit (Neuro-ICU) are unique because their principal underlying cause of death is primarily neurological; thus, their end of life symptoms may be related to neurological pathology, multisystem dysfunction, or both. However, little is known about symptom development and control in these patients.
