Prehabilitation vs Postoperative Rehabilitation for Frail Patients

To the Editor We would like to congratulate Carli et al for exploring multimodal prehabilitation in frail patients prior to colorectal cancer resection. Before perioperative clinicians abandon prehabilitation in frail patients as a preemptive strategy to engender good postsurgical outcomes, we would like to draw attention to the necessity of optimal prehabilitation strategies and suggest that concluding that “alternate strategies should be considered to prepare frail patients for surgery” may be premature.
