Prevalence and mortality of sarcopenia in a community-dwelling older Japanese population: the Hisayama Study.

CONCLUSIONS: Approximately 7% of older subjects had sarcopenia in a community-dwelling older Japanese population. Moreover, subjects with sarcopenia had an increased mortality risk.
