Open repair of descending thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms: a meta-analysis.

CONCLUSIONS: Despite improvement, open repair of descending thoracic aortic aneurysms and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms continues to be associated with a considerable risk of operative death and perioperative complications.
