Open repair of descending thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms: a meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Despite improvement, open repair of descending thoracic aortic aneurysms and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms continues to be associated with a considerable risk of operative death and perioperative complications. The use of the cerebrospinal fluid drain is associated with better outcomes.
