We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of all the available data to assess the efficacy of Autologous (AHCT) and allogeneic (allo-HCT) hematopoietic cell transplantation for Waldenstr öm macroglobulinemia (WM). Both AHCT and allo-HCT are efficacious resulting in complete response rates of around 20% with allo-HCT affording a 2-fold lower relapse rate which is offset by a 7-fold higher non-relapse mortality compared to AHCT.
