Real-world performance of ATA risk estimates in predicting 1-year DTC outcomes: A prospective multicenter study of 2000 patients (ITCO Study #3).
CONCLUSIONS: The ATA risk stratification system is a reliable predictor of short-term outcomes in patients with DTC in real-world clinical settings characterized by center heterogeneity in terms of size, location, level of care, local management strategies, and resource availability. Conclusion: RAI-R TC patients reported a general increase in prevalence and interference on daily activities of symptomatic AEs during therapy with LEN. Self-perceived QoL initially decreased during therapy. However, our data suggest that QoL could be restored after 12 months; this trend might partly reflect the impact of therapy optimisation.Eur Thyroid J
AbstractIntroductionWe aimed to demonstrate the importance of serum calcitonin (Ct) and carcinoembryonic ‐antigen (CEA) levels in the selection of appropriate positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) modality in the follow‐up of operated patients with medullary thyroid cancer.MethodsFourteen operated patients (8 Female, 6 Male) with MTC underwent PET/CT imaging with somatostatin (68Ga ‐DOTATATE) and glucose (18FDG) analogs due to elevated Ct or CEA at follow ‐up. Ct and CEA levels and both PET/CT findings were compared based on both patients and lesions.ResultsPositive findings were found in 10 pat...
ConclusionsRefined cut-offs for bCT and casCT in patients with nodular goiter are reported. Sensitive bCT was shown to have a high accuracy, but the combination with casCT data was needed to identify all MTC cases. The reliability and safety of calcium test strongly favour the routine use of CT determination in nodular thyroid disease.

In conclusion, a potential international multicenter study of female patients undergoing RAI of DTC as children, adolescents, or young adults, with a sufficient sample size, is feasible. However, breast cancer screening of a larger cohort of DTC patients is not unproblematic for ethical reasons, due to the likely, at most slightly, increased risk of breast cancer post-RAI and the expected ~10% false-positivity rate which potentially produced substantial “misdiagnosis.”
CONCLUSIONS: The expression of linc00324 is significantly increased in PTC tissues and cells. Silencing linc00324 may inhibit the proliferation of PTC cells, arrest the cell cycle in G1/G0 phase, and promote the apoptosis by inhibiting the Notch signaling pathway. CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated the involvement of PTK7in the progression of thyroid cancer, and therefore provided a novel and promising therapeutic target for thyroid cancer treatment. PMID: 32633373 [PubMed - in process]

This article discusses the accumulating data on various malignancies described in primary Sjögren syndrome, highlighting non-Hodgkin lymphoma and thyroid, multiple myeloma, and skin cancers. These reported associations may have clinical implications in daily practice and contribute to understanding of both autoimmunity and cancer. PMID: 32631601 [PubMed - in process]
