Apoptotic events induced by a natural plastoquinone from the marine alga Desmarestia menziesii in lymphoid neoplasms
Lymphoid neoplasms are clonal expansions of lymphoid cells at various stages of differentiation. T-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and Burkitt's lymphoma (BL) are aggressive forms of immature and mature lymphoid neoplasms. The chemotherapy protocols available for these diseases are associated with frequent relapses and high morbidity and mortality rates [1 –4].
