Thiol/disulphide balance in patients with psoriasis.

Conclusions: In recent years, there have been few studies on the role of oxidative stress in the etiopathogenesis of psoriasis. In this study, we investigated in psoriasis patients, thiol/disulfide balance as a new oxidative stress marker. The results were compared with a healthy control group. Our results showed that thiol/disulphide balance shifted towards disulphide in psoriasis patients. This is important as a finding that supports the role of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. PMID: 32467684 [PubMed]
