ConclusionsThere was no evidence for increased cerebral [18F]FET uptake after epileptic seizures neither in the rat models nor in patients. The SE model even showed decreased [18F]FET uptake throughout the brain. We conclude that epileptic seizuresper se do not cause a longer lasting increased [18F]FET accumulation and are unlikely to be a major cause of pitfall for brain tumor diagnostics.

AbstractDysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumors (DNTs) are regarded as benign glioneuronal neoplasms because of their excellent outcomes; however, rare DNTs show malignant transformation. We herein described a case of DNT showing malignant transformation. The patient had intractable epilepsy caused by a tumor at 1  year of age and partial resection was performed. After surgery, the residual tumor showed regrowth and surgery was performed again at 4 years of age. ConclusionsPerampanel proved to be effective on seizure control in BRTE patients and to be well tolerated without negative effects on cognition and QoL. Perampanel could be a valid therapeutic option in BTRE.
