There is growing evidence that the experience of menopausal symptoms has negative impact on women's self-perceived work ability, productivity, capacity to work and work experience [1 –6]. Over 75% percent of women visiting a menopause outpatient clinic for severe symptoms associated with menopause report a low ability to perform their work regarding the physical and mental work demands [2]. The menopausal transition begins on average four years before the final menstrual perio d. Natural menopause in the developed world occurs around 50 to 51 years of age.
