The Role of Lung Ultrasound in the Assessment of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia
A NOVEL coronavirus was discovered in the lower respiratory tract of a group of patients with pneumonia in Wuhan, Hubei province, China, in December 2019.1 The disease caused by this novel coronavirus officially was named coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) by the World Health Organization on February 11, 2020, and it has a highly infectious rate and a high mortality rate. As of April 1, there were 754,948 global infections of COVID-19, with 36,571 deaths (https://www.who.int/diagnostics_laboratory/EUL/en/).
