A Prediction Model for Detrusor Overactivity at Ambulatory Urodynamics in Women with Urinary Incontinence

Detrusor overactivity is an important urodynamic finding that has been shown to be present in women with severe symptom bother and to affect the treatment options and results. Objective and subjective clinical findings of overactive bladder syndrome were found to be more severe in women with detrusor overactivity [1]. The presence of preoperative detrusor overactivity was the only urodynamic finding that negatively affected the success of mid-urethral sling surgery [2]. Treatments such as Botulinum toxin A or neurostimulation are recommended for only in patients diagnosed with detrusor overactivity [3].
