Because they contain unpaired electrons, ROS has high chemical reactivity. Various researches of ROS are focused on DNA damage, cell apoptosis, oxidative stress. Actually, ROS is also closed related to immune regulation. Based on this, we review the research in immune regulated ROS production, regulation of ROS on inflammatory factors and inflammatory response, antigen presentation and macrophage polarization for better understanding of its role.
