National gender differences in the prescribing of opioid medications from 2006 to 2015.

CONCLUSION: Men are more likely to be prescribed an opioid as compared to women, but women are being prescribed more opioids overall. Gender differences should be further explored to develop gender-specific interventions to reduce opioid prescribing. PMID: 32421840 [PubMed - in process]
