Neighborhood environments and intrinsic capacity interact to affect the health-related quality of life of older people in New Zealand

The World Health Organisation (WHO) ‘Framework for Policy for Healthy Aging’ [1] has shifted our perspectives on wellbeing for older people. It included recognition of the importance of environments for everyday functioning, providing the impetus for research on the interactions of intrinsic capacity (“the composite of all the p hysical and mental capacities of an individual” p.28) and environments of aging in predicting quality of life (QoL).
