ESTRO IORT Task Force/ACROP recommendations for intraoperative radiation therapy with electrons (IOERT) in breast cancer
In breast conserving treatment (BCT), radiation therapy following breast-conserving surgery (BCS) is performed as whole breast irradiation (WBI) or, increasingly, as accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI), targeting the tissue surrounding the original tumour site (tumour bed) in selected patients with low local recurrence risks [1].
