Therapeutic benefits of blinking exercises in dry eye disease

Dry eye disease (DED) is an increasingly prevalent condition [1 –3] and an important public health concern, given its impact on work productivity and quality of life of those affected. Reported symptoms include ocular surface burning, itching, and foreign body sensation, as well as photosensitivity, ocular hyperemia and intermittent poor vision [1]. Severe for ms of DED are associated with anxiety and depression [4,5]. Risk factors for developing DED include female sex, advancing age, exposure to low humidity environments, contact lens wear, refractive surgery and use of digital devices [6].
