We read the article “Second cancers in patients with locally advanced prostate cancer randomized to lifelong endocrine treatment with or without radical radiotherapy. Long term follow-up of the Scandinavian Prostate Cancer Group-7 trial” with great interest.1 The authors reported an increased incidence of bladder a nd lung cancers in patients who underwent 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy. We appreciate the authors’ efforts to clarify the secondary cancer (SC) risk after radiation therapy (RT) for prostate cancer with a randomized controlled trial, although this was not the primary endpoint.
