Vitamin D and Anemia

New insights into the biologic functions of vitamin D increased the interest in the clinical consequences of vitamin D deficiency. In addition to its role in mineral metabolism, recent studies indicate a relationship among hypovitaminosis D, survival, and inflammation. Moreover, it seems also that vitamin D is involved in erythropoiesis.
