Comment on: Knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of women during pregnancy after bariatric surgery
The risks of obesity and hyperglycemia during pregnancy on mother and child are significant and well-documented [1,2]. These risks include increased prevalence of gestational diabetes and cesarean delivery, as well as large-for-gestational age, preterm birth, congenital malformations, and spontaneous abortion. Thus, safe and effective interventions to decrease severity of obesity and diabetes are necessary to improve maternal and offspring health.
