Ticagrelor versus clopidogrel for prevention of subclinical stent thrombosis detected by optical coherence tomography in patients with drug-eluting stent implantation-a multicenter and randomized study.

Conclusion: In patients who underwent a second-generation DES implantation, using aspirin plus ticagrelor was associated with a significant reduction in subclinical ST. (ClinicalTrials.gov. Number: NCT02140801). PMID: 32326796 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusions In STEMI patients with high thrombus burden, low-dose prourokinase intracoronary administered immediately after thrombus aspiration improves myocardial perfusion, cardiac function, and MACEs-free survival with no significant increase in major bleeding.

CONCLUSION: Active retinal bleeding has been reported only twice in the past, in these cases, it was attributed to superficial venous vessel rupture due to vitreous traction or Valsalva-like retinopathy at the site of neovascularization. Active retinal vein bleeding during a fluorescein angiography, secondary to deep venous thrombosis due to Fournier gangrene, has not been previously reported. Abstract PURPOSE: Although current guidelines recommend the administration of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) for up to 12 months after the implantation of a drug-eluting stent (DES), extended DAPT is frequently used in real-world practice. MATERIALS AND METHODS: From the Korean Multicenter Angioplasty Team registry, we identified a total of 1414 patients who used DAPT for>3 years after DES implantation (extended-DAPT group) and conducted a landmark analysis at 36 months after the index procedure. We evaluated the determinants for and long-term outcomes of extended DAPT and compared the occurrence of majo...

Authors: Sumaya W, Parker WAE, Judge HM, Hall IR, Orme RC, Adam Z, Richardson JD, Rothman AMK, Morgan KP, Gunn JP, Storey RF Abstract A novel enoxaparin regimen consisting of intra-arterial bolus (0.75 mg/kg) followed by intravenous infusion (0.75 mg/kg/6 hours) has been developed as a possible solution to the delayed absorption of oral P2Y12 inhibitors in opiate-treated ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients undergoing primary angioplasty. We aimed to study the feasibility of this regimen as an alternative to standard-of-care treatment (SOC) with unfractionated heparin ± glycoprotein IIb/I...

ConclusionsThis technique using a shortened balloon occlusion time resulted in complete or partial clinical and technical success in all patients and suggests that the threshold for initiation of gastric variceal thrombosis may be below 30  min. This timepoint may provide a balance between adequate balloon inflation, angiography room efficiency and hospital resource allocation with resultant procedural cost implications.

Conclusions. The choice of the method of treating visceral artery aneurysms and visceral artery pseudoaneurysms depends on the location, size, anatomic features of the visceral arteries and the clinical course of the disease. Both endovascular and surgical treatment demonstrate good postoperative outcomes. Visceral ischemia is one of the most serious complications in the postoperative period, which can complicate both the diagnosis and the choice of treatment tactics. E, Becker D, Merkely B Abstract BACKGROUND: Catheter directed thrombolysis (CDT) and thrombectomy represent well established techniques for the treatment of intermediate pulmonary embolism (IPE). The long-term effect of catheter directed thrombolysis of IPE is unknown. METHODS: Clinical, interventional and echocardiographic data from 80 consecutive patients with IPE who were treated with CDT were evaluated. Primary end-points were technical success and major adverse events (MAEs). Secondary end-points were cardiovascular mortality, all-cause mortality, clinical success, rate of bleeding complications, improv...

We describe a 43-year-old woman presenting with an asymptomatic LRVT complicating NCS. She was referred to our hospital for investigation of dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and detailed examination revealed endometrial cancer. Computed tomography angiography (CTA) and Doppler ultrasonography revealed compression of the LRV between the aorta and the SMA, as well as an LRVT. CTA performed 4  months after the administration of an anticoagulant showed complete disappearance of the LRVT. We have also included a review of published reports describing LRVT complicating NCS and discussed the clinical features of such a presentation.

Conclusions The patient underwent thromboembolectomy by interventional radiology with subsequent administration of intravenous immunoglobulin, high-dose steroids, and enoxaparin therapy. There is no standard of care for patients with life-threatening pulmonary embolism in this population. Several authors suggest medical therapy options, but do not include patients with potential hemodynamic instability.
