Opioid usage after outpatient pediatric urology

I read with great interest the article of Bilgutay et al. in a recent issue of the Journal of Pediatric Urology [1]. The authors performed a prospective study on 202 patients undergoing ambulatory urologic surgery and concluded that most pediatric patients used zero to two doses of prescription pain medication after hospital discharge following outpatient urologic surgery representing a small percentage of the total prescribed amount.
