Hypodermoclysis in Long-term Care

Dehydration is a problem that negatively impacts patients, especially those in long-term care. These patients are often unable to rehydrate orally and require artificial means of achieving hemodynamic stability. Hypodermoclysis is a rehydration technique that is effective, safe, and comfortable for patients. The use of hypodermoclysis in long-term care may result in decreased costs, lowered nosocomial infections, decreased time from dehydration diagnosis to rehydration intervention, and improved overall outcomes for long-term care residents.
